Cliff Filleau

COL Clifford R. Filleau (Cliff) passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021.  Cliff was born in Cle Elum, WA and discovered a love of aviation at a very young age.  He attended Central Washington College as a Geography and Political Science major and joined the Air Force ROTC program through which he received his commission into the USAF.  He served 10 years active duty and 18 years as a reservist. His active duty tours included Taranto, Italy (Jupiter Missiles) and Vietnam. He retired as a full colonel and continued to work in aviation at Boeing for an additional 29 year career in the defense division.  He spent many hours volunteering at the Museum of Flight, the Knights of Columbus, was an active member of Puget Sound Yacht Club and the Marymoor R/C Club.  He enjoyed several terms as Membership Chair, was a regular at Redmond Senior Center static displays of Model Aviation and Hobby Shows at Evergreen Fairgrounds.  He worked on the training program for several years developing an instruction manual to help new flyers as well as driving the mower for field maintenance for several years.  He possessed a wealth of aviation knowledge and was happy to share it or help anyone who asked.  Cliff was one of the good ones and he will be missed.

Express a remembrance for Cliff and all of his contributions to our club.
