Starting January 21, NW Asphalt and Parks will be making ADA parking improvements in multiple parking lots around Marymoor park. Parking Lots include: R/C lot, Lot B, Community Garden and both off-leash area parking lots (Lot D and G). The crews will make every effort to keep the lots open in some way, to allow use of the adjacent spaces; however, there may be intermittent closures to allow safe and efficient use of large equipment. The vendor and club areas are in the Event Center. Most of the swap tables are now located in the Pavilion Building. The indoor flying area is nearly twice the size and now located in the center of the Event Center. We will host a Fun Fly competition for fixed wing models, flying demos and more. The Battle Bots and Tanks are returning again this year, too! We again have the pond area which will support lots of the model boating activities. And NEW for this years Expo is a race track that will cover more than 80x40 feet of area with racing heats and competiton.
Thanks to the unstinting efforts of several club members, we now have the capability to continuously monitor the radio spectrum at the field, to determine whether there are environmental or malicious attempts to interfere with our legitimate use of the 2.4 GHz band. The park is still working on making a permanent power connection for this effort, so that's why you will see an extension cord going from the power panel into the large shed vent in the interim.
The annual MAR/C Christmas party dinner will be held Friday, December 13 at the Family Pancake House at the Redmond Inn (17621 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA. Bring your Significant Other. Details are shown in the attached form. If you plan to attend, please fill out the form, and mail it (along with a check or cash) so that Gene receives it no later than December 7. Also, you may bring it to the November 21 Club meeting. If you do not submit a form, you may still come to the dinner but will have to order from the menu.

For table holders, the swap meet site will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, and from 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Event workers will be available to assist the table holders as needed. Opening the doors early is intended to give table holders time to set up their tables.
The doors will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
One of the key takeaways from the club survey last fall was the desire from many club members for an improved runway The board looked at number of options, including paving, special 'geotex' fabrics, and artificial turf, all of which would have been extremely pricey—on the order of $30,000.
Parking in the spectator area is not allowed. I think we all know that, but the park has noticed that some of us have gotten rather lax about moving vehicles out of the spectator area after unloading, thus the new sign they have given us as a reminder—driving into the spectator area is only allowed for loading and unloading, and frankly should only be done when it’s logistically impossible to transfer equipment from the normal parking area.
